"I like this software very much. It's
a very useful training tool."
Allen T.
"I had problems understanding the use
of the VOR, but when I used the Pilot Trainer I found out in no time
how to use. Now I recommend it to all other student-pilots I meet. Great!"
William G.
"My instructor was impressed with my
progress. I've always known that I'm a born pilot ;-) but still I suspect
that the Cockpitweb program has had some good influence too... :-)"
Bjorn D.

| The
Cockpitweb Pilot Trainer
for private and commercial pilot training.
It has been developed for those who don't want to become
airline pilot or get an IFR training. It teaches all the
details of instrument flying, how to use an ADF and VOR,
and how to navigate to an NDB and to a VOR in crosswind
conditions.
Learn the basics on the ground before you step into the
aeroplane and save time (and lots of money)!
The
Pilot Trainer
combines:
-
a
Pilot Training ebook
(52 pages PDF-file) describing the theory of instrument
flying and radionavigation,
-
42
interactive computer-based exercises to practice
instrument flying, to learn the use of ADF and VOR and
radionavigation, to improve your instrument scan and
your skills.
-
the Pilot
Trainer
simulator, a 'light' version of the new IFR
Simulator 2.0 (*)
-
the
convenient preflight
preparation (navigation log, mass & balance
and conversions calculation software).
-
Extra:
the Pilot Guide.

Pilot Training
ebook
|
The
theory of instrument flying and radio navigation is explained in
the pilot training ebook. This manual of 52 pages is divided into
7 chapters: Basic instruments, instrument flying, navigation, radio
navigation instruments, tracking, interceptions and flight considerations.
The manual is full of examples, it is easy to read and fast to study.
It was written to enable self-study. In just a couple of hours you
will learn all about instrument flying and radio navigation!
The manual deals
with subjects as basic
instrument flying, navigation, effect of wind, drift and wind correction
angle, use of ADF, relative bearing, QDM, QDR, use of VOR, TO/FROM
flag, VOR needle (CDI) radials, inbound course, DME, VOR and ADF
tracking, and interceptions. In short, this manual deals with all
aspects of instrument flying and radionavigation.

Computer-based Exercises
In addition to the
theory explained in the pilot training ebook, the Pilot Trainer
offers more than 42 different exercises divided into 4 chapters: Instrument
flying, radio navigation, tracking and interceptions.
The
Cockpitweb Pilot Trainer
offers unlimited exercise possibility as the computer automatically generates
as many variants as you want.
The 42 different exercises
are either static exercises or fly exercises.
-
Static
exercises are mental and procedure trainers and check whether
you understand the theory. They require you to make a calculation
and fill in the result. Then the computer generates another exercise
of the same type. You can make as many different exercises as you
want while the computer keeps track of your score..
-
Fly
exercises allow you to fly a procedure in real-time using
the simulator. The program automatically puts the airplane in a position
and changes the instrument set-up making life very easy. Just click
the start-button and start flying. Click the 'NEW EXERCISE' button
to generate another variant of the same exercise and the computer
will randomly position the airplane and take care of the instrument
set-up like frequencies and course settings.
Furthermore
- The Pilot
Trainer runs even on older, slower
computers: See our F.A.Q.
for Minimum System Requirements
- The Pilot
Trainer offers high quality training
for a very competitive price. The program costs less
than the price of 1 hour of IFR flying. By using the Pilot Trainer
you will save many hours of flight!
- The Pilot
Trainer is easy to use.
You'll only need a few minutes to get started. We have kept the simulator
as simple as possible. Unlike other simulators there are no complex
instructions or settings. We want you to focus on flying, not on learning
the program.
- The Pilot
Trainer is not a game.
It was written and programmed by pilots to help pilots with their
flying training.
(*) The Pilot
Trainer simulator contains all functions of the IFR
Training Software except: drawing of holding, ILS, RMI, HSI and
29 IFR exercises.

Requirements: see F.A.Q.
